The Yoga for the Vagina story…
Behind every new modality is a story; it is here that I share the story behind Yoga for the Vagina, and my personal journey with the Jade Egg. Because while I now LOVE it, it wasn’t always the case.
When I was first introduced to the Jade Egg I was excited. I was busting to use it.
I researched the poopoo’s out of it, as I do with anything I ever play with, and it seemed like such a beautiful practice, that I had to give it a go.
So I began getting some coaching on how to get started.
To my disappointment, I just couldn’t get into it. In fact, it felt like a whole lot of hard work, and I was finding it really difficult to connect in with the pleasure of the practice.
I’d go gung-ho for a few weeks using it almost every day – trying to ‘get’ what is was all about – then it would sit in my drawer for weeks, sometimes months at a time. I just couldn’t seem to find my mo-jo and couldn’t work out why.
I kept researching but nowhere could I find a practice routine that actually resonated with me. In fact, just finding a practice routine in itself was near impossible. Some teachers were teaching it in a very masculine way, which is what originally turned me off it, and other teachers took an approach that was perhaps a little too airy fairy for me.
I just couldn’t find the right balance of how to carry out my practice in a way that nourished me, opened me and really fed my soul, while at the same time delivered some juicy physical benefits too.
So after learning with a number of leading teachers, I began to create my own practice, drawing upon my skills in various other modalities. On top of that, I started training up in specific yoga modalities – Kundalini Yoga, Pregnancy Yoga for Women, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga – those which took a more feminine approach and worked holistically with the female body.
I learnt more about all sorts of things like body de-armouring, reflexology, energy healing, Tantra, Taoism, and even the Alexander Technique, which focuses on teaching you how to release tension so you can better ‘use’ your body.
I trained in the Billings Ovulation Method, Vaginal Steaming, Qigong for Women, Pelvic Anatomy, Back Anatomy, and learnt about the power of syncing with your cycle and using that as a catalyst for deep internal healing.
As I explored, I found myself developing a practice that was far more than a Jade Egg practice.
It was something else.
It woke me up energetically, physically, emotionally; my self-image started to change and I began to really love my body and accept myself like never before.
Having constantly been teased as a kid for what I looked like, I’d developed a pretty negative view of myself over the years. Yet every time I did a practice I felt an inner peace, an inner knowing that I was perfect just the way I was.
That I was home.
Not only that. Having suffered ongoing foot, knee and ankle problems my whole life, I quickly found that having a regular practice meant my overall alignment was staying sturdy, so I was no longer experienced these body complaints.
I felt stronger both physically and mentally.
I called what I had developed, my Yoga for the Vagina practice.
I’d created it for myself, but I found myself sharing my personal Yoga for the Vagina practice with my clients, who also began to see miraculous results. After I myself healed my cervix of pre-cancerous cells – thus avoiding surgery – I was able to help two of my clients do the same.
The results these ladies were getting – curing incontinence, healing trauma, melting fibroids, just feeling more alive and accepting of their own body – completely blew me away.
So I dared to take my little Yoga for the Vagina practice and share it with more ladies at festivals around Australia. In 2015, I presented at nearly a dozen festivals and every single time I ran Yoga for the Vagina the room packed out (most rooms seating well over 100 people). Sadly, on many occasions we had to turn women away due to a lack of space.
That’s when I realised I’d created something that women wanted.
That women were ready for.
That women needed.
It was time!
I began immediately, creating an online course where so I could share this practice with women, not just in my country of Australia, but all over the world.
I was having women from the UK, from France, from Germany, from Canada, from America; from all sorts of places wanting to learn this new style of yoga.
I was so taken aback.
Yet like anything I create, I always go above and beyond, and so creating the course took a little longer than I’d originally planned, as I kept finding places I wanted to go deeper in, areas I wanted to further develop before I finally released my baby to the ladies of the world.
That is what led to me sharing this practice – in the form of the Yoga for the Vagina full online series – with you.
A practice I have developed after studying the female anatomy in depth along with many healing modalities, so that I could create a practice specifically for a woman’s body, a woman’s mind, and a woman’s soul.
A practice that has brought so much joy and love to not only my life, but the women who have learnt with me.
This practice is for YOU.
For you to play with, to explore, to use to open you to a deeper dimension of your phenomenal self. And the best bit is, you can take it at your own pace.
There are no assignments, no deadlines.
I share simple ways of how to gently introduce the practice into your life, so you can ease your way in.
You’ll find a heap of mini sequences that don’t even need the Jade Egg to put the sparkle in your eye. So if you’ve only got 3-minutes you can do Yoga for the Vagina.
On the other hand, if you have hours of time available to study this new healing modality I’ve created for this, there really is sooooo much content to explore, so you can really build an in depth understanding of your own body.
